Last time we covered the importance of sharing content and also how creating a system and sometimes automatizing these processes will make things run smoothly, therefore, not taking too much time away from your business.

Automizing your published article to your social media

October 1, 2013 | By | No Comments">No Comments

Social Media can be scary for some, exiting for others and sometimes, a reason for procrastination and distraction (been there, done that!).  There are many tools online that will help you promote your content along all the different social media platforms (there are too many to do it individually and manually), and reach your audience.

You can publish a blog post and connect it to your Twitter and Facebook, so once it is published, the link will be shared on those platforms.  You can use the image you created for a specific post on Pinterest to attract people to your website, and also share it on instagram!  And I'm just naming a phew …

I like to think that the less time it takes for me to be online in every single platform out there, the more time I will have to share my content effectively and to create great content my readers will want to read. There are popular tools like hootsuite, but I'm also a big fan of IFTTT that works under recipe and can be used for your personal life as well!

Custom Websites: Promoting your content

September 30, 2013 | By | No Comments">No Comments

You have created your website and carefully crafted a strategy, in addition to creating amazing content that your visitors love.  Imagine how many people you'd reach if you would only promote your content, imagine if you could just reach out to anyone and make them come to your site, read and follow you.

This is possible if you start promoting your content in Social Media. It might sound daunting at the beginning but by creating a system and committing a short period of time each day, you will make your website and its content more visible to more people and will generate great exposure instead of passively waiting for people to find you.

One of the most important things to do is to make relevant audiences find and read your content and share it with their peers (that's a giant plus!).  By promoting your content you are raising your possibilities and if you have already put some time and effort into creating your content, you might as well make that extra effort and put it out there!

WordPress in Plain English: Categories vs Tags

September 27, 2013 | By | No Comments">No Comments

Categories allow you to group your posts and organize them along your website. Depending on the theme and widgets you have enabled on your website, the name of the category can be displayed before or after a post or publish a post in a specific area on a page.

They give some sort of ID to your posts, and you can call them and make them show up whenever and wherever you want, which is a more advanced way of using categories beyond grouping.

Tags on the other hand, are more specific than categories, they are generally used to describe your post in more detail.  The use of tags is entirely optional, but it can help your readers find related content to Drama, instead of going through all the posts under the category Books.

So a category can be Book, and tags can be drama, science fiction, nature, painting, small editions, spanish, dutch.
